Burgess Hill DJ Raises Over £25k For A Mental Health Charity With His 40-Hour Kitchen Rave
21st March 2021 | By Peter Chapman
Burgess Hill DJ Graham Meeres has managed to raise over £25k for the Mental Health charity 'Mind' by successfully completing a 40-hour 'Kitchen Rave'.
Starting 8pm on Friday 19th March, Graham went right through until midday on Sunday 21st to complete the grueling feat.
His £20k target was reached at 10:20am on Sunday, with the figure continuing to grow at an astonishing rate for the remaining hour and a half
to finish with a total of £25,333, donated by 1,106 supporters.
During the closing moments of his stream, Graham estimated that he'd played close to 1,300 songs over the 40 hours, across 22 genres.
This is not the first time that Graham has done an endurance event. Last year during the first lockdown, Graham did a 24-hour Kitchen Rave for NHS Charities Together, raising £15k against an original target of £5k.
Graham also held two smaller fundraising events on behalf of Burgess Hill Town Council to help local community groups affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and provided the music at the town's 'Christmas Pop-Up' event in 2020.
Spread the word! A local DJ has raised over £25 for the MIND mental health charity through a 40-live Kitchen Rave.
