'Kitchen Rave' DJ To Broadcast A Sunday Afternoon 80s and 90s House Party For Burgess Hill This Weekend!

22nd May 2020 | By Peter Chapman

Burgess Hill DJ Graham Meeres is back helping to raise funds this weekend when he'll be the official launch event for the 'Together In Burgess Hill' fund on behalf of the Town Council.

Having successfully completed his 24-hour 'Kitchen Rave' in aid of 'NHS Charities Together' just a few weeks ago, he'll be streaming live on Sunday 24th May from 3pm-5pm with 'The Sunday Afternoon House Party' - featuring 2 hours of 80s and 90s party hits.

Graham's show will be streamed live via his Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/djgrahammeeres/

Paying Tribute To The Burgess Hill Covid-19 Response Effort
During the House Party, Graham will be recognising local people and groups who have helped with the Covid-19 response effort. The key workers, volunteers, community groups and those that have been keeping the spirits up in the community.

If you'd like someone or yourself to have a 'shoutout' during the show, simply leave a message in the chat box on the Facebook feed when the show is in progress. https://www.facebook.com/djgrahammeeres/

About The 'Together In Burgess Hill' Fund
The aim of the fund is to help local comunity groups who can't hold any fundraising activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Burgess Hill Summer Festival has been cancelled this year and this served as a great platform for groups to raise funds by running stalls at the various events.

We're requesting that local residents consider donating to the fund in lieu of the money they would have given to these groups when buying raffle tickets, playing the tomobla, games, buying cakes and craft items etc.

As an extra incentive to donate, Burgess Hill Town Council and the Burgess Hill & District Lions Club have agreed to match fund the first £5,000 of donations from their own Covid-19 response fund. Therefore, a pot of at least £10k for our community groups is very achievable.

When the fundraiser closes at the end of June, groups will be invited to apply for financial assistance from the funds raised. More details about the process will be released in July.
