23rd April 2018
By Peter Chapman
Fans of nights out drinking on the cheap could soon be able to extend their time spent in the Six Gold Martlets with the news that Wetherspoon have applied for longer opening hours at their establishment in Church Walk.
If their application is successful, Wetherspoon will stay open for an extra half an hour Monday-Thursday and a whole extra hour on Friday and Saturday nights which will see the venue close at 1am.
Currently the venue closes at 23:00 Monday - Thursday and at midnight on Friday and Saturday.
In their supporting statement to Mid Sussex District Council, Wetherspoon point out that the Block and Gasket stay open until 2am on the weekend, with Quench open until half-past midnight on Fridays and until 1am on Saturday nights.
Wetherspoon say that the application has been submitted due to 'continuing customer demand'.
The national planning policy framework has a presumption in favour for the enhancement of existing public houses.

Spread the word, Wetherspoon could be staying open until 1am on the weekends.
