Oakmeeds To Be Renamed As Preparations Continue For September's Academy Conversion

Oakmeeds Community College sent out a press release today, revealing that the school is to be renamed as part of the school's conversion into an academy at the start of the new educational year.
'The Burgess Hill Academy' is the preferred new name for the school following feedback from staff, parents and students.
The New School Logo has been narrowed down to a design which will include an oak leaf, acorns and stars.
7 pupils won a golden ticket 'in recognition of their innovative ideas and enthusiastic contributions into the design of a new logo' They enjoyed a special lunch with a friend in the canteen as a reward.
Jon Francies, interim Principal said
“We are entering an exciting phase and I believe introducing a new name from September will signify a fresh start. Working with the dedicated staff team and trust colleagues, I will be focused on continuous improvement to deliver the highest quality education to create a local school for the community of Burgess Hill to be proud of.”
Oakmeeds also wish to assure parents that there will be no requirement to replace uniform that includes the current Oakmeeds logo.
