Oakmeeds Launch Competition To Design New School Logo
29th June 2016
by Peter Chapman
With Oakmeeds currently in the process of converting to an Academy through the University of Brighton Academies Trust, it has been decided that this new era calls for a new logo.
Yesterday, Oakmeeds sent out an internal email to pupils with details of a new logo competition where the chosen design will be sent forward to the graphic wizards at Brighton University to help in forming some prototype designs.
The Prize for pupils whose logos are selected, will include being part of the design process with a team of professional designers AND they'll also receive a golden lunch ticket* to use in the canteen (*details of this particular perk are unknown at this time, but sounds very exciting)
The Design Brief calls for pupils to come up with a logo that's visually striking, one that'll work both in colour and black and white.
It has been suggested for the students to consider heraldic themes, birds, animals, shields.
Oakmeeds seek the logo to have 'an emphasis on academic attainment and raising aspiration' A list of 13 educational 'buzzwords' were suplied for pupils to try to work into their designs
- good luck with that!
We here at BHU look forward to what the Oakmeeds students come up with. Here's our effort:
Our GOT-inspired design. How awesome would this look on a blazer!
Spread the word! Oakmeeds are looking to introduce a new school logo
