The southern end of Mill Road is to be closed for repair after a sinkhole was discovered on Monday evening.
Bob Fox posted pictures to our Facebook page, saying 'It Looks like Burgess Hill is opening a new treacle mine in Mill Road, beware!!!

Engineers from West Sussex County Council visited the site on Tuesday to dig a test hole to find out how deep the void was. Buses were being diverted during this time.
Currently the road is restricted to single lane traffic, with a full closure of both lanes scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) when a full repair is expected to take place
