The 2020 Burgess Hill Christmas Lights Are Switched On Without A Crowd
20th November 2020 | By Peter Chapman
Burgess Hill's Christmas lights have been switched on for the festive season without an official ceremony due to the current Covid-19 restrictions.
The illuminations made their 2020 debut at 3:30pm on Friday afternoon in the town centre to light up a very dull, wet day to a crowd of no one...... well, apart from your reporter, the proprietors of Sussex Kabudo and a resident who lives above the shops, all of whom I told to stick around for the historic moment!
The lights in the trees outside JD Wetherspoon
are a new addition for this year. They look lovely and are sure to be appreciated by those popping outside to have a smoke!
Market Place Shopping Centre put their lights on a week earlier. Gone is the giant Christmas Tree, replaced by a slight and reindeer suspended from the rafters. The public warmly received the change.
Spread the word! The 2020 Burgess Hill Christmas Lights have been switched on for the festive season!
