New Burgess Hill Secondary School Could Open In 2023 In The Latest Northern Arc Update Given To Residents

The new secondary school for Burgess Hill has a target opening date of September 2023 if working practices aren't too disrupted by Covid-19 said Homes England at Tuesday evening's first ever virtual drop-in event with residents.
Also with a target completion date of September 2023 is one of the two proposed primary schools - all of which will be located in the Burgess Hill Northern Arc development.

What was expected to be a Q&A session fell rather flat with residents, as representatives of Homes England took turns with a 45-minute long Powerpoint presentation, a lot of the information shared has already been known for a long time.
A few pre-submitted questions were addressed during the meeting, but all others that were sent in during the meeting will instead be answered at a later date.
(We'll signpost you to the answer when they are published)

We also learnt that the new Maple Drive Play Area could be ready to go by September this year, with Countryside Properties having submitted a design to Mid Sussex District Council following some workshop sessions with pupils at nearby Sheddingdean Primary School.
In addition to a new play area, there will also be a fancy MUGA (Multi-use games area) with a fully enclosed 5-a-side court for football and basketball.
