The Emperor Chinese Restaurant Building Goes Up For Auction Again
5th July 2019 | By Peter Chapman
The Emperor chinese restaurant building is up for sale via auction for a second time having gained planning permission last year to be converted into 10 flats with a retail unit and a smaller restaurant on the ground floor.
The restaurant - located in Cyprus Road Car Park, Burgess Hill - has remained closed since the planning permission was granted in July 2018, but no work has been carried out
on the site's redevelopment. You can see the proposed plans here. The building was formerly a bingo hall for a number of decades.
The freehold was previously going to auction in September 2015, with a guide price of £390k-£410k, but was sold privately prior to the event.
This latest auction is being handled by
Parsons Son & Basley and will be taking place on Thursday 18th July in The Paganini Room, The Old Ship Hotel, Kings Road, Brighton, BN1 1NR.
The guide price is now a cool £1.1 million.
