In Pictures: Construction Of The New Burgess Hill Lidl FInally Gets Going
8th January 2019 | By Peter Chapman
The construction of the new Lidl supermarket on Leylands Road, Burgess Hill has finally kicked into gear - over a year after the old Gas Holder was demolished.
Lidl announced that they'd completed the purchase from NewRiver Retail in December after the latter had themselves purchased the land from Southern Gas Networks and carried out all the necessary remedial works (albeit rather botched)
for the new owners.
BHU went along to the site on Sunday to take pictures of the progress made so far...

This is some tarmac....hopefully there's no asbestos mixed in with it!
This corner of the site along Leylands Road is where the actual store will be constructed.

The whole construction project is expected to take 31 weeks and is scheduled to be completed in July. The steel structure is due to go up in mid-February.
