The Young at Heart Community Partnership are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for their exciting new club for the over 50’s which will be held every Wednesday starting from April 4th.
Vowing to put the 'Wow into Wednesdays' Burgess Hill Town FC's clubhouse will be the venue from which Young at Heart will be providing a range of activities for residents of Burgess Hill and the surrounding areas.
What they're looking for:
If you’ve skillsets or experience in anything craft or activity related, can lead small classes (we are open to all ideas!!) or simply make a mean cuppa (!) and have time to spare on a Wednesday - even if not regularly, we would LOVE to hear from you.
We're also looking for active committee members, with skills or experience in social care, fundraising, activity provision, finance, legal, volunteer co-ordination, HR & more as we work towards 2019 - when Age UK leave The Cherry Tree Centre in Burgess Hill and we take over the delivery of services.
Committee experience isn’t essential but you will need to be able to attend local meetings (monthly / bi monthly depending on role)
If you think you'd like to get involved, then please email youngatheartcp@gmail.com

Background Information
The Young At Heart Community Partnership was created when members of the community were concerned that Age UK West Sussex were set to leave the Cherry Tree Activity Centre on Fairfield Road. Young At Heart had the full intention of stepping in to take over the provision of the service. Age UK West Sussex then announced a dramatic u-turn and decided to stay until their lease runs out in April 2019.
Young At Heart still aim to run a weekday service in the future, but for now are focusing on filling the provision gap left by Age UK West Sussex who cut a day out of their weekly programme (Wednesdays)
The group continue to raise funds and recently held a charity quiz evening at the Woolpack pub from which they raised over £500.
