Nicholas Soames Barked Like A Dog At A Female MP In The House Of Commons

Mid-Sussex MP Nicholas Soames is once again in the headlines. This time for barking like a dog at a female MP during a debate in the house.

SNP member Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh MP complained that Soames made 'Woofing Noises' at her during the debate about US President Donald Trump and his travel ban on Muslims - a session in which the government was accused of walking "hand-in-hand” with a “fascist”. '



Speaker of the house John Bercow, called upon Soames to explain himself....



Soames said:
“I thought that in her question to the Foreign Secretary, she snapped at him a bit at the end, so I offered her a friendly canine salute in return.

"No offence was intended, and I apologise to the honourable lady if she was."



John Bercow said:
"The phrase ‘woof woof is “not in order.. it is discourteous and that expression should not be used.”
