Burgess Hill's Charity Book Shop Is On The Move
8th January 2017 By Peter Chapman
The Burgess Hill District Lions' charity book store 'The Book Den' is on the move to a new location in Burgess Hill Town Centre.
With the lease running out at their current location at the bottom of Church Walk - and with the impending redevelopment of the area - the Lions have seized the opportunity to relocate to this place....
'A Discount Store' has remained empty for about a year, having formerly been occupied by cult favourite 'Polish Delights' (Got any Mr Sheen in stock?)
A spokesman for the Lions Club said they had secured a favourable long-term deal with the landlord. With the store being nearly twice the size of their current shop with the location being right by the juction going into the Martlets shopping centre, then it was a no brainer to make the move.
Work is currently taking place to prepare the shop, with the Lions hoping to move the Book Den into the new
premises during April.
The Burgess Hill District Lions also wanted to wish all their customers a very happy new year and would like to remind the public that they are still accepting your unwanted books to sell. You can drop them off at the current shop Monday-Saturday from 10am-4pm.
If you have a large amount of books, then you can drive round to the back of the shop, look for the Lions sign on the back of their door, give it a knock, and a member of staff will gladly take them off your hands.
All proceeds from the sales of books go towards local good causes, which has included installing a large amount of defibrillators around the town.
Spread the word, the Books Den are on the move.
