Empty Bar Cena/Fusion Is About To Be Occupied.....But NOT By Sainsbury

The empty Bar Cena/Fusion is about to by occupied by a different business on Church Road, but it's not the one that we were all expecting.
Multiple sources had said that Sainsbury were going to open one of their 'Local' stores in the long-time empty unit with the recently vacated Clinton Cards shop being knocked through to make a larger premises. At the time, the Marketplace shopping centre were staying tight-lipped on the rumours, which of course added fuel to the fire!
We can now reveal that the two buildings will be merged together, so that part was true. The business moving in does indeed begin with an 'S'..... Specsavers!
Fortunately for our sources, Specsavers' expansion will include an audiology
department.
The proposed layout includes 7 test rooms, a laboratory, call centre, big waiting area with large-screen tv. iPads dotted around the showroom, office rooms and toilets. This will be spread out across two floors.
All that stands between Specsavers and their planned relocation/expansion is the approval of Mid Sussex District Council's planning department who need to rule on the redesign of the shop frontage. It's just a formality though.
You can see all the documents related to the application by inputting DM/15/3559 into the MSDC planning portal here..https://pa.midsussex.gov.uk/online-applications/
Spread the word, Specsavers are expanding...

What do you think of Specsavers' expansion in Burgess Hill?
Would you like to have seen another known business come to town to occupy such a large retail unit?
