7th December 2014
By Peter Chapman
The result of a Premier League fixture wouldn't usually have an impact on Burgess Hill Town Football Club, but Chelsea's loss at Newcastle United on Saturday lunchtime carried much significance.
It meant that the Sussex club are now the only undefeated team in league football from levels 1-8 on the footballing pyramid. Something to tell the grandkids about one day.
The Hillians had gone 18 league games unbeaten before their fixture at home to Horsham and that soon became 19 as they tore apart their local rivals in a 7-0 demolition at the Green Elephants Stadium.
