Bumper Crowd Treated To 3-1 Home Win As Burgess Hill Remain Top Of The League
9th September 2014
717 fans piled into the Green Elephant Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Burgess Hill Town FC marked national non-league day with a 3-1 win over local rivals East Grinstead.
All the goals came in the first 45 minutes in a game where the visitors really should have been dead and buried by half-time.
There were scares in the second half for the Hillians with East Grinstead looking capable of getting a second goal to make for an uncomfortable finish for the home team. As it panned out however, Burgess Hill dominated the latter stages and again should have notched many more goals.
It was a good performance by the league leaders, but they'll need to be more clinical in front of goal when they come up against sterner opposition.
