You have to be in it to win it. BHU's Scott McCarthy is standing as an independent candidate in the Hassocks and Victoria Division as he seeks election on to West Sussex County Council.

Scott McCarthy says: "Like many people, i've become disillusioned with party politics. There is little interest in representing local peoples views, only doing what the party believes is right.
As a true independent, I want to stand up for those in both Hassocks and Burgess Hill and take their views to Chichester"
