THE 24TH BURGESS HILL BIKE RIDE - 5TH JUNE 2016
This year's event takes place on Sunday 5th June, starting between 9am and 10am from the car park of Oakmeeds Community College in Burgess Hill. Again this year it is being organised by Burgess Hill's Lions and Rotary Clubs with all profits going to the Sussex Cancer Fund and other local charitable projects.
Once more we are offering a choice of three circular routes of 10, 20 and 40 miles. All routes start and finish at Oakmeeds and will travel through the beautiful Sussex countryside.
The price of entry to the event is the same as last year for adults (£15) and children between 10 and 15 (£5). We are reintroducing sponsorship by entrants and will be very grateful for any money that you are able to raise.
Free T-shirts will be available to advance entrants, subject to availability. A sponsorship form will be sent with the packs for advance entrants and your supporters will also be able to donate via the MyDonate website.
This year is a special year for us. As many of you will be aware, the founder of the Burgess Hill Bike Ride back in 1993, Malcolm Stephens, died suddenly at the start of this year. Among many other things, he was the person responsible for choosing the routes each year and the Bike Ride Committee are hoping that this year's event will be a fitting tribute to his memory.
Launch Days are being held on 9th April and 8th May at The Market Place, Burgess Hill, and on 24th April and 9th May at South Downs Garden Centre, Hassocks. We are also holding a raffle with cash prizes and tickets will be available at these events.
Application forms can be downloaded from our website as usual.
