Get Burgess Hill On The Monopoly
Board
The race is on for 22 of the
UKs most popular locations to be immortalised on
the world famous board game, Monopoly. For over 70 years
the official Monopoly board has represented the most valuable
locations in London but for the first time ever, makers
Parker will decide on the 22 locations not by the cost
of the property or its notoriety but on the passion of
its people. The winning locations will be featured on
a new Monopoly Here and Now UK Edition board to be released
in October. The communities of the UKs villages,
towns and cities will be rallying together to vote for
the chance to be included in the ultimate list of UK locations.
Manchester could become the new Mayfair, but the top spot
could just as easily go to Burgess Hill!
Our Rivals
Burgess Hill has its work cut out if it is to win one
of the 24 available places on the monopoly board.
With no university, the town loses out on the student
vote. The current standings suggest the students are voting
in their masses, Oxford and Cambridge are near the top
of the table, along with Sheffield, Nottingham and Keele.
Obviously students do more than just watching Neighbours
and eating a pot noodle.
Closer to home and Haywards Heath are jealous of the number
of votes that Burgess Hill have so far and want to overtake
us. The city of Brighton, with their 250,000 population
compared to Burgess Hill's tiny 29,000 are also lagging
behind and are running their own campaigns to attempt
to beat the mighty Hill, the south coast city have even
resorted to claiming that the people are Burgess Hill
are churning out fraudulent votes! It all sounds like
sour grapes to us!How To
Vote
You can vote once
a day each for Burgess Hill by simply choosing the 'wildcard'
option at this link:http://www.monopoly.co.uk/vote.aspx
This is one vote per person per day, so if you live
in a family of four, you can also get them to vote,
if your family members have no arms, you can vote on
their behalf. Voting ends on May 25th, so vote as much
as you can! Do it every day. As one supermarket chain
says "Every little helps"
