Burgess Hill Gypsy Watch

October - November 2012
Exactly 30 days after their last visit to Mid Sussex, the travellers have returned to Burgess Hill. They are currently small in number, but how long until a huge convoy comes to town?

With the assistance of local residents, we'll keep you right up-to-date with the movements of the travellers.

12th October 2012: Burgess Hill Town Football Club

At around 7pm we were alerted on Facebook that there may be travellers in thecar park of Burgess Hill Town Football Club. Off for a drive to check it out....

Around 4-6 Caravans were parked up on the left-hand-side of the Car Park.
The football club have a home game tomorrow. Will the travellers be moved on before kick-off?

13th October 2012: Victoria Industrial Estate

The travellers moved on Saturday morning and parked outside one of the HPC buildings on Consort Way, Victoria Industrial estate.

How long before their numbers swell?

20th October 2012: Kings Head Pub, London Road

At 18:30, members of the Burgess Hill Uncovered Facebook page reported that the Travellers have left the industrial estate and have gained entry to the Kings Head Public House compound by breaking the large gate.

More news to follow....

22nd October 2012: Kings Head Pub, London Road

Despite several visits from the Police today, the travellers are still occupying the Kings Head Car Park.

Photo is blurred as the photographer was shaking with fear (nothing to do with not using a flash!)

10th November 2012: Station Road

After a mammoth stay at the Kings Head Pub Car Park, we've had three reports come into the BHU offices telling us that the Travellers have now magically gained entry to the waste ground next to the Burgess Hill Baptist Church in Station Road.

Travellers Burgess Hill Station Road

With too much good sport on TV today (Sunday) a photo has not been obtained!
